Responsibilities:Assist in managing and overseeing litigation matters involving the company, including but not limited to disputes with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions to support litigation strategies and legal arguments.Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings, to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and procedures.Coordinate with external legal counsel and other relevant stakeholders to develop and execute litigation strategies, including settlement negotiations and courtroom representation.Monitor and track the progress of ongoing litigation matters, and provide regular updates and reports to senior management on case developments and potential risks.Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues, including contract interpretation, regulatory compliance, and risk management.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks, and provide training and education to employees on legal matters as needed.Assist in reviewing and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the interests of the company and ensure compliance with legal requirements.Stay informed about changes to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and proactively identify and address legal issues that may impact the company.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable institution; additional qualifications such as a Master's degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous.Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in the financial services sector or a related industry.Strong understanding of Nigerian laws and court procedures, with the ability to effectively represent the company's interests in legal proceedingsExcellent research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal issues and communicate them clearly and conciselyDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism in all work products and interactions.Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of the job
