The company seeks for a logistics manager who shall report to the Head of Logistics and shall be responsible for the efficient and effective allocation of vehicles and ensuring that Drivers achieve their targets through improved turn-around time and efficient and effective management of the vehicles in the fleet.

Education:
University degree in Business Administration, Management, Transport or related field.
Professional certification and membership with CILT is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in logistics and transport.
Varied supply chain & logistics functional background is a key asset.
Competencies:
Ability to understand the language of drivers and motor mates and be able to relate well with them.
Ability to organize and implement drivers training.
Good knowledge of computer, Microsoft Office suites and tracking applications.
Ability to establish harmonious working relations in a multicultural environment.
Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas and systems in a target based environment.
Ability to clearly and concisely express ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
Proven ability to enforce safety procedures.
Good analytical and negotiating skills.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in field-level planning in the area of logistics.
Participate in programme planning and daily scheduling of trucks.
Provide technical and operational support to the drivers, as well as advice on application of logistics management best practices, systems and procedures.
Take initiative in the improvement for the logistics function.
Assess existing logistics operations systems and advise on corrective measures to be undertaken.
Ensure the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of drivers’ performances.
Conduct special management reviews and/or follow-up on audit observations to assist in the improvement of office procedures and practices related to logistics.
Develop key performance indicators by which third party truck contracts can be managed.
Ensure timely transmission of logistics monitoring information, and truck distribution to the head office.
